What the heck is this?

Welcome to our crazy Hallmark Christmas Movie blog!

Last Christmas, Melissa and I became obsessed with Hallmark Christmas movies. Look. They're not Citizen Kane or anything. But for pure, bubblegum fun, they hit the spot. Especially as we're all shut in because of a global pandemic.

With the announcement that Hallmark will be showing its Christmas movies now that everyone's on quarantine, we thought we'd share what has become kind of a game.

Here's how it works. We sit in bed and sip a half glass of wine each. Then one of us picks a Hallmark Christmas movie to watch.

We grant points based on which Hallmark Christmas movie achetype, cliche or plot device appears in each movie -- we watch two each night. Whoever's movie is awarded the most points wins. What do they win? Anything the winner wants. Dinner, laundry, vacuuming...whatever!

So here it goes. Starting tomorrow, we begin our little experiment and attempt to perhaps grant all of you a respite from the wild, wild world outside for as long as Hallmark's Christmas movies can last!

So until tomorrow, may you find love under a gazebo while having a snowball fight in a bucholic town named after a Christmas icon, all while sipping hot cocoa during a heavy, wind-free snowfall!
